By creating an account or using Revizen, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your name and email address. We store your password in an irreversibly hashed form — we never store or see your plain-text password.

Study Activity Data

To power your dashboard and progress tracking, we store:

• Study session logs (date, duration in minutes, subject context)
• MCQ practice results (score per chapter, timestamp)
• Timer logs associated with your account

Technical Information

Like most web platforms, our servers automatically log basic technical data when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, and the pages you access. This information is used solely for security monitoring and server diagnostics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Display your personalised dashboard, progress, and study statistics
• Send essential account emails (email verification, password resets)
• Detect and prevent abuse, spam, and unauthorised access
• Improve the platform based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns

We do not use your data to serve advertisements, build marketing profiles, or sell to third parties.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

Revizen uses a session cookie to keep you logged in across page visits. This is a strictly necessary cookie — the platform cannot function without it. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

We also use your browser's localStorage to remember your preferred colour theme (light or dark) between visits. This data never leaves your device.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. Your data may only be disclosed in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: We may use trusted hosting or infrastructure providers to run the platform. They are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the purpose of running Revizen.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and study data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records.

You have the right to:

• Correct inaccurate information via your profile settings
• Delete your account and associated data at any time from your profile page
• Export your data — contact us and we will provide a copy within 14 days

Revizen is intended for students preparing for SSC and HSC exams, which typically includes students aged 14 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us so we can remove their data promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will notify you via the email address on your account. Your continued use of Revizen after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
